Gaza Genocide: Israeli Relentless Strikes Kill Nearly 62,900 Civilians

(MENAFN) The Palestinian Health Ministry reported on Wednesday that at least 62,895 Palestinians have died in Israel’s relentless military campaign against the Gaza Strip since October 2023.

In the past 24 hours alone, 76 individuals were killed and 298 wounded, pushing the total number of injuries to 158,927, the ministry said in an official statement.

Additionally, starvation and malnutrition claimed ten more lives—including two children—raising famine-related fatalities to 313, with 119 of those being children.

“Many victims remain trapped under rubble or on the streets,” the ministry said, emphasizing that ongoing Israeli airstrikes and insufficient rescue equipment continue to block efforts to reach those buried or injured.

Since March 18, following Israel’s resumption of military operations after the collapse of a ceasefire and prisoner exchange deal, the ministry recorded 11,050 Palestinians killed and 46,886 wounded.

Israeli forces have also reportedly targeted civilians attempting to access humanitarian aid, killing 18 and injuring 106 in the last day.

According to the ministry, since May 27, 2,158 Palestinians have died and over 15,843 have been injured while seeking humanitarian assistance.

The full blockade imposed by Israel on Gaza since early March has devastated the territory’s 2.4 million residents, triggering famine, rampant disease, and the breakdown of vital infrastructure.

Last November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, charging them with war crimes and crimes against humanity related to the Gaza conflict.

Meanwhile, Israel faces a genocide lawsuit at the International Court of Justice over its ongoing campaign in the enclave.
