China, Italy Commit to Deeper Strategic Partnership
Wang, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, told Italy’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Antonio Tajani, that these decisions align with the core and enduring interests of both nations and embody the common hopes of their peoples.
Marking the 55th anniversary of China-Italy diplomatic relations, Wang underscored that over the past five decades, the two countries have deepened high-level, pragmatic cooperation, fostered vibrant cultural and people-to-people exchanges, and established a productive comprehensive strategic partnership.
China remains committed to working with Italy to build mutual confidence, remove obstacles, and vigorously implement the action plan aimed at reinforcing the comprehensive strategic partnership. Wang stressed the goal of advancing bilateral cooperation and accelerating economic growth in both countries.
“As comprehensive strategic partners, China and Italy should maintain close exchanges, trust and support each other, and address each other's major concerns. China hopes and believes that Italy will continue to faithfully adhere to the one-China principle and consolidate the political foundation for the sound and steady growth of bilateral relations,” Wang said.
He further urged both nations to translate the crucial agreements reached by their leaders into concrete steps, turning positive political intentions into tangible momentum for the development of China-Italy ties.
Wang also highlighted China’s eagerness to expand cooperation with Italy in emerging sectors such as green technology, digital innovation, aerospace, and artificial intelligence. He pledged a fair, transparent, nondiscriminatory, and predictable business environment to encourage increased two-way investment between Chinese and Italian enterprises.
