Heavy Rains Trigger Floods, Landslide, Killing Three in Afghanistan

(MENAFN) Severe weather across Afghanistan has resulted in at least three deaths and left five others injured, as stated by reports from local media.

According to the information released, two people lost their lives and five sustained injuries after floods struck eastern Laghman province and western Herat province, both triggered by heavy rainfall earlier in the day. In a separate event, a child was killed when a landslide hit northern Sar-e Pul province.

The intense downpours and subsequent flooding have also inflicted extensive damage across multiple regions, destroying homes and devastating farmland, including orchards.

Authorities have warned residents, particularly those living in vulnerable and flood-prone areas, to exercise caution as adverse weather conditions persist, posing continued risks to life and property.
